Hiring your first employee
Parijat Sahai is looking for advice on hiring Employee #1. How did you find your first staffer?Â
Hiring the first employee can be daunting.
One way to ease this task is by word of mouth: contacting relatives and acquaintances to asking them about if they know of someone who they can recommend to fill the available open position.
The second choice would be placing an ad on the local newspaper, or at the major employment search portals on the web. workonline

With regard to hiring the first staffer, a great idea is to do an online personality/behavioral assessment on yourself and the new team member.
Knowing your own behavioral style and that of your employee is the key to effective communication – whether its your first or 51st employee – it's a small investment and simply good practice.
Similarly, through another online assessment, you can also measure what motivates and inspires you and your team member. Knowing a person's values helps you better understand they're coming from – and where they'd like to go.
Know yourself first, then your people. You can't go wrong.
