Hi Ursula Thompson I really need some advice on how to get children for my licensed home daycare. I am recently caring for two infants and is looking to find four more children to take care of. I already have a website and have used Ad Words on google and all other free classifieds to market my daycare. I am a regular on craigslist.org and only recieve responses from "parents" that is looking to come in the states. Which I know is a BIG scandal because they always asking for too much personal information(that raise all kinds of red flags). I am in need of advice of ways to get children, which in these times Im surprised home daycares arent profiting from this because we charge way lesser than daycare facilities. If and when you can, any advice would be appreciated.

I asked a question on this page several months back about my daycare business. I have been so busy I havent had time to get back to you with feedback. Your suggestions were so helpful. I tried some of your suggestions (some of which I was already doing so I did more of those as well) and the result was stunning. Thank you so much. Will keep you posted.

Hi there Ursula,

Having a website has done wonders for me in the lead generation department.

If you don't have one, get one!

List it with as many online daycare directories that you can find.

You can find a list of Free directories here:

I am a freelance copywriter with a small company – Stacey Mathis Copywriting. IN 2006-2007 I crafted a brochure for a daycare center owner who previoulsy marketed her business with fliers. In a couple of months after using the brochures, her busines doubled to its legal limit, and she now has a waiting list. The sole focus of my business is writing for businesses and organizations that market to parents. I am happy to help you. Feel free to call me at 800-862-0361.
