The going rate for a finder's fee

I run a a temporary staffing company. Clients often want to hire my consultant for the position we are temporarily filling. What is an appropriate "finder's fee" that should be charged to the client, considering they are taking one of my independent contractors?

That's the best situation to be in! Every situation is different, you always want to look at the partnership you have with that client company, but a good starting place is: consider what your direct hire fee would be for that level of position and credit any amount the client has already paid towards that investment.









In my experience, I have billed 20% off the backend. In other words, 20% of the base salary per year. E.g. If they are placed for 100K, you would be due 20k.
